Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing modality which involves laying on hands to energetically unblock and balance the Chakras, auric field, and meridian systemRei, meaning Spiritual Wisdom, and Ki, meaning Life Energy, works with the bodies subtle energy system, guiding itself where it's needed. Reiki is deeply restorative and relaxing, helping to reduce stress, diminish pain, and facilitate in personal and spiritual growth. Reiki is spiritual in nature as it provides love and compassion, but it is not a religion, has no dogma, and does not conflict with religious beliefs. If you're not sure Reiki energy is for you, let's have a conversation before you book this treatment. Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment or counseling. I am not qualified to diagnose, treat, or heal any physical, mental or emotional condition. If you are on medication and feel that you want to change or reduce your prescription only do so under the care of your physician or psychiatrist.

How exactly does Reiki affect and support us?

Physically, the energy produced by Reiki supports the body’s own internal healing processes, allowing it to restore itself. Occasionally Reiki will intensify symptoms or pain during the energy balancing process, so make sure to let me know if this happens.

Emotionally, Reiki helps us connect to our feelings and can free up emotional energy. Some get emotional and find tears rising up during their session or within a few days of the session, which indicates stagnant energy is clearing.

Mentally, Reiki may help to illuminate your thinking processes and release thinking patterns and beliefs that no longer suit you, or are no longer healthy for you.

Spiritually, Reiki helps reconnect to spirituality, opens intuition and clarity, and expands our capacity to love ourselves and others.

What does Reiki feel like?

Most commonly people feel very relaxed, peaceful, and centered, even falling asleep during their session. You may see colors, experience a dreamlike or meditative state, feel light, feel heavy, have tingling sensations, feel pure love, or get emotional and have the urge to cry. This indicates that the Reiki is helping to free up and clear some emotional energy, and that is good! Your Reiki experience may be very subtle, not noticing a change during or right after the treatment, but instead noticing benefits later in the day, or even the next day or week(s) following the treatment. Just remember each person experiences Reiki differently, even varying from session to session.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

Dress comfortably, as you'll be lying down for 30-60 minutes based on the length of treatment session you choose. Prior to your session, is possible, refrain from items such as caffeine, sugar, alcohol, or recreational drugs, as they alter your consciousness, and may cause you to not fully relax or be overly stimulated.

What should I do after my Reiki session?

Drink plenty of water, and try to relax for the remainder of your day. Try to eat clean, avoiding processed foods and alcohol. Give yourself grace, patience, and kindness, allowing your emotions to flow, being aware of any detoxification taking place.

How often should I, or can I receive Reiki?

Depending on your goals and needs, I may recommend three successive treatments one to two weeks apart to get started, but Reiki may be performed on a regular basis such as once or twice a month, or as-needed.

What do my Reiki sessions look like?

I begin our session by smudging our space, myself, and you, with Sage or Palo Santo. I incorporate frequency specific music and a quartz crystal singing pyramid to enhance the Reiki energy along with specific crystals which are commonly connected to the Root, Sacral, Solar, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown Chakras. They are placed in alignment and activated with light therapy, the Reiki symbols and healing energy.
